Fun at the Bronx River Arts

Picture: Bronx River Arts Center- Whole lotta art, and art for sale.

No we didn't go into the river swimming, but we were at the Bronx River Arts Center. I go to interview Ms. Kim Beazer. She said that Oct 16th was an open house for youth afterschool programs. Every day they have from 15-30 kids there, depending on what activities are going on. They have 8-10 teachers, of which 2 per day give classes.

Yesterday, they had about 15 children taking classes, and 6 in addition were in the computer room, working on graphic design, the other children were making paintings.

They have a Halloween party Oct 31st, at Bronx River Arts. On Dec 12th, they have the student art show and fund raiser, their Holiday show.

The kids painting were about 12-15 years old. Painting faces, or whatever they wanted to. There were also paintings and pottery on sale. At the entrance they have a board about other agencies who deal with Domestic Violence programs, and other activites.

Eight kids came to the open house, and some of their parents too.
