Banda de los Muertos fires up the crowd with its brassy, hot-blooded banda music from Sinaloa, Mexico. Loud and emotional, the banda sound is a boisterous crossbreed of traditional Mexican music and German polka, powered by ranks of brass, woodwinds, and percussion. This epic 10-member band storms the stage with soulful sounds from 1940s Mexico mixed with funky New York flavor—written and arranged by bandleader Jacob Garchik. With special Día de los Muertos performance by artist Aurelio Del Muro. Presented in collaboration with Carnegie Hall’s Neighborhood Concert Series.
