The Progressive States Network reported to a hearing in Washington, D.C. March 8 that legislation targetting unions' collective bargaining right is being advanced in 37 of the 50 states. Bills
to lower or abolish state minimum wages are in the legislatures
in 14 states. Then there is NYC Mayor Bloomberg who wants to crush the unions, while maintaining what he still calls so-called collective bargaining.
