There are a few events, this week and next in D.C.
which are organized around the theme of what's called
"geo-engineering." Now, that term has been coopted by various
crazy people, -- anyway, basically as a way to take CO2 out of
the atmosphere by reducing the amount of sunlight that hits the
Earth -- [Lyn gags] and these kinds of things. It does seem,
plausibly, a very real response, an immediate response to what
we're doing, but we sampled some of the discussion yesterday, and
it's clear that we've got an opportunity to really re-shape the
terms of discussion, on the question of the management of the
Biosphere for the long term. And I think some of the things we
have coming out, just came out, the rail video, the follow-up now
on the Arctic developments, and then, a follow-up on that, which
will treat more directly, the Biospheric development as taken up
in the paper. Instead-- build NAWAPA, the famous water from Alaska
project, and you will change the earth, the climate, and be ready
to colonize Mars.
