Harlem Homeboys, Come to the Bronx for Bronx Week





Get ready for some hot bread and circuses, Harlem homeboys and girls at the Bronx Week party. There are Bronx Week events all week, which reach their climax with the Sunday June 22nd induction into the Bronx Hall of fame, and the parade, fair and concert on Mosholu Parkway by Bainbridge, Sunday Afternoon.

A fun filled day of financial learning with music, prizes and activities for all ages is sponsored by Checkspring. Activities include face painting, a balloon sculptor, a magician, and a moonwalk. On Sunday, June 22, 2008 the big event in the morning is the Walk of Fame Induction Ceremony. Be part of the welcome home celebration when Borough President Adolfo Carrion, Jr. unveils permanent, individual lamppost signs for the 2008 Bronx Walk of Fame inductees, at the corner of Grand Concourse & E. 161st St, at 11 AM. And later, don’t miss the fun when bands, floats, and thousands of marchers make their way up Mosholu Parkway celebrating their Bronx pride. The parade kicks off at 12 noon. Catch the action from the reviewing stand at Van Cortlandt Avenue East. After the parade, the celebration continues with a Food & Art Festival featuring some of the boroughs most popular artisans and restaurants, produced in association with the Bronx Council on the Arts, at Mosholu Pkwy. S. at Bainbridge Avenue, from 12PM-6PM, and there’s a concert too.
